Firefox's terms are refreshingly short and free of the worst tricks (no forced arbitration, no class-action waiver, no sweeping ownership grab over your data or content), but Mozilla still reserves the right to kill your access anytime for any reason and caps its own liability at a token $500.
What you're agreeing to
These Terms of Use govern only the ready-to-run ('Executable Code') version of the Firefox browser, not the open-source code itself, which remains under the Mozilla Public License. You get a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use Firefox, and in return you grant Mozilla the rights needed to operate the browser, including processing your data as described in a separate Firefox Privacy Notice that this document does not itself spell out.
Mozilla can change these Terms whenever it likes, and simply continuing to use Firefox counts as your acceptance — there's no requirement that you be individually notified before changes take effect. Mozilla can also suspend or terminate your access 'at any time for any reason,' including discontinuing Firefox entirely, though it says it will try to notify you by email.
If you send Mozilla feedback or suggestions, you give up any claim to compensation or control over how it's used. You also agree to indemnify Mozilla against claims arising from your use of the browser, and to accept a warranty disclaimer plus a liability cap of $500 for any damages Mozilla might otherwise owe you, excluding indirect and consequential damages.
Notably absent are things that often plague other companies' terms: there's no mandatory arbitration clause, no class-action waiver, and no broad license claiming ownership over content you create using the browser. Additional services like Firefox Sync require separate account terms and privacy notices, which are not covered by this document.

Termination at Mozilla's sole discretion
MedMozilla can cut off your access to Firefox 'at any time for any reason,' including ending the product entirely, with no requirement of advance notice or cause.
Mozilla can suspend or end anyone’s access to Firefox at any time for any reason, including if Mozilla decides not to offer Firefox anymore.
Liability capped at $500
MedEven if Mozilla's software causes you real harm (e.g., data loss, business interruption), the most you could recover under this agreement is $500, and several categories of damages are excluded entirely.
Any liability for Mozilla under this agreement is limited to $500.
Changes take effect just by continuing to use Firefox
LowMozilla can revise these Terms at any time, and your continued use — not any explicit acceptance — is treated as agreement to the new terms.
We will take your continued use of Firefox as acceptance of such changes.
Free, unrestricted license to your feedback
LowAny suggestions or feedback you give Mozilla can be used by them for free with no obligations back to you, so don't expect credit or compensation for ideas you share.
If you give Mozilla any ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Services, you give Mozilla permission to use them for free and without any additional obligations.
You indemnify Mozilla
LowIf your use of Firefox leads to a legal claim against Mozilla, you agree to cover Mozilla's liability or costs arising from that claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold Mozilla and its affiliates harmless for any liability or claim from your use of Firefox, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
